Electric Panel Heaters – General Questions

Can my electric panel heater be hung vertically?

Our panel heaters are designed to be mounted horizontally only. The elements inside are horizontal and the heat needs to rise up through the vent at the top. Mounting them vertically will not allow for ventilation and will damage the heater.

We do sell a vertical format electric panel heater, The Radialight Icon, which you may want to consider.

What size electric heater do I need for my room?

If you measure the dimensions of the room and note its properties, you can calculate what power heater you need in watts at the calculator.net website.

Adax VV21 / V22T / V23 Electric Fan Heaters

My Adax VV21 / VV22T / VV23 electric fan heater is rattling inside and won’t switch on. Is it broken?

The Adax VV21 / VV22T / VV23 Fan Heaters have a built in anti-tilt system. They won’t turn on if they are not standing upright on a flat surface. There is a steel ball bearing inside of the unit which is the anti-tilt mechanism. If you shake the unit you’ll hear the ball bearing rattle around inside it’s channel. This is part of the design.

Adax Neo / Clea Electric Panel Heaters

I can’t connect to WiFi on my Adax Neo / Clea Smart Electric Radiator. Please can you help me?

Please ensure that there is a good Wifi signal in the place where the heater is to be installed.  You can check Wifi signal strength by holding your mobile phone in the area where you want to install the heater to check the signal to your broadband router.  Please bear in mind that panel heater may not have quite as strong a signal as a mobile phone due to the steel casing.

If signal strength is not strong it may be necessary to purchase a Wifi signal booster / repeater to ensure that the heater connects to the router properly.  This is the best solution if you are having difficulty.

It is not recommend to install a Wifi heater in a location where the signal strength to the router is poor.

When you setup the APP, please ensure that you enter the full name of your router in the SSID field (case sensitive).  Sometimes it may default to ‘my wifi’ as the router name.  Please ensure that you change this to the correct name of your router as your mobile phone would see it.

Broadband routers commonly offer two Wifi frequencies,  2.4GHz and 5GHz.  We advise that you turn off the 5Ghz setting on the router’s setup page before you attempt the Wifi connection.  This is to reduce interference.  Use 2.4Ghz instead.  When the connection is complete, you can turn the 5 Ghz mode back on again.
